Cambodia is unlike any other country we have visited. Though actively capitalizing on tourism,
even the most 'touristy' areas still enjoy traditional ways whether it is in their food,
their commerce or day to day living. They are among the nicest, gentlest people we have
met which really makes you wonder how that country could endure so much atrocity over the
past 40 years.
We only had four days in Cambodia, but felt we made the most of that limited time. This
gallery is comprised of the images we saw while in Siem Reap and largely consists of the
wonderful temples as well as Lake Tonle Sap - a wonderful afternoon visit. All shots were
taken with my Canon 5D with either the 17-40L or 28-135 Canon ISM lenses. And, yes, we
lugged a rather large Manfrotto field tripod through all the sites. A beautiful area,
beautiful people with some of the most incredible scenery. As there are a couple hundred
photos in this gallery, you may wish to start with the "Best of Cambodia" gallery which is a
collection of personal favorites from the other galleries. If something catches your attention,
you can then visit a particular gallery for more photos of that topic.
Thanks so much for your feedback - much appreciated. Joseph, we pretty much arranged our own trip instead of going through a tour company. That said, we did hire a personal guide/driver to take us around while we were there. He knew the sites to see and ensured we were up at the crack of dawn. $20US - $25US per day seemed to be the going rate.
