The Wildlife Preserve is contained within the Sepulveda Dam Recreation Area in the San Fernando Valley of Los Angeles. Lake Balboa, man made from reclaimed water, drains into a small creek which travels south and east through one or two golf courses, under Woodley avenue and into another small lake in the Preserve. Many of the birds travel between Lake Balboa, the golf courses and the Preserve. This scene in the Preserve shows about ten Egrets, two or three White Pelicans, and eight or nine Cormorants. It's interesting to note the Egrets and Cormorants roost in trees.
