Marina Del Rey viewed from AA flight 424 newly airborne. Towards the top of the photo is roughly north. Venice pier can be seen about 1 nautical mile north of the marina entrance. The area south of the south jetty near the entrance to Ballona Creek has become a full time anchorage over the past few years. Each winter several boats are blown on the beach or rocks during storms.
