The creation of this gallery and its sub-galleries is to highlight the Great Florida Birding Trail which encompasses four regions including the east, west, south, and panhandle. Within the regions are 71 "clusters." Within the clusters are 489 venues I plan to visit in the coming years where I hope to see the 497 bird species that are known to make their home in, or migrate through, the state of Florida. There are four additional species that have been observed in Florida since the the first European explorers arrived in America which are regrettably now extinct. As long as I am able, this will be work in progress. There are only two other states in the USA that are known to have more Aves diversity than that found in this southeastern corner of the country.
