Sanctuary Arch Hike

These photos were taking on a day hike in the area of Sanctuary Arch

Sanctuary Arch is a natural stone arch located in the Gifford Pinchot National Forest about 20 miles south of Packwood Washington.

From where I parked (see map) it was about three miles and two easy hours to the arch. Another mile to St John Lake. All together 7.6 miles and about 7 hrs with many stops. It was about 0.4 mile shorter coming back because I took the abandoned ridge top route. The abandoned ridge top route is in no way near passable to stock and is marginally navigable on foot (i.e. some rock climbing may be required).
