St. Botolph's Church, Boston

Boston Parish Church: the church is dedicated to the 7th century English saint, St. Botolph. The church is widely known as “The Stump” from the nickname that was given to the tower though the precise reason for the tower being given that name is not known. Work on the church started in 1309, replacing a previous Norman building. The church, except for the tower, was completed by 1390. Work on the tower started in 1450. Major restoration works were carried out in the 1850s and 1920s.
