Located in the Sonoran Desert which stretches from central Arizona into Mexico, Saguaro National Park is a unique environment that is home to many distinctive plant and animal species. Of these the Saguaro Cactus is the single most recognizable southwestern desert plant. In one of the hottest and driest deserts on the continent it can grow to a towering 50 feet and live 150 years or more.
The park has two locations, on the east and west sides of Tucson.
