Luxor Temple

Luxor temple was dedicated to the Theban Triad of Amun, Mut, and Chons and was first built during the New Kingdom, around 1400 BC, and later rebuilt by the Greek in about 300 BC.
In the annual Opet Festival in ancient Egypt, a cult statue of Amun was paraded down the Nile from nearby Karnak Temple to stay at Luxor temple for a while, in a celebration of fertility.
