5/28: Beach!

Corona del Mar

Yesterday's party picture was an optical illusion of sorts since it was taken in front of a mirror to double the fun. Click on the image below to see it in color and with all the items identified.

Duhhhhhhhdunt...duhhhhhhhhdunt...duhhhhhhhdunt...duhhdunt...duhdunt...duhdunt :) Does look like a great day at the beach. Glad to see your party supplies were half of what they appeared to be.

that's one packed beach! the last time i was at the beach it was empty by comparison. i guess that's the difference between SoCal and NorCal.

nice catch of the wave. i tend to worry a bit about using non-weather-sealed zooms and digital at the beach. sand and salt water can jam up the zoom or get inside when swapping lenses. for this reason i shot film with primes the last time i was at the beach, but i'm just paranoid like that.

Man that is a lot of people.
Guest 29-May-2005 15:24
The composition here is very interesting and dynamic. Others have already explained why!
I like the shock of the wave on the rock.

Interesting the way the photo is bisected by the wave and it's thick with people on one half and empty on the other.
Robin Reid29-May-2005 13:54
I like your low angle and the inclusion of the rock on the left.

That surf is in reverse...another of your gotcha images, Jeremy :>)

Ah..! Swimming days are just around the corner for us here. We don't get great surf like this on Canadian lakes though. Nice catch.

Even though there is a lot going on, there is a minimalist quality to this. Superb capture and composition.

love the scale on this and deep dof.
