I was feeling a little ill on Saturday morning. Apparently I fell down the hill in front of the hotel and twisted my ankle the night before. After a quick swim in the hotel pool, Jeff and I felt refreshed enough to do little sight seeing. We drove down to the Kodak Theatre in downtown Hollywood and went for a stroll along the ‘Walk of Fame’. The streets were absolutely packed with tourists and the both of us couldn’t wait to get out of there. After the obligatory pictures of the Hollywood sign and Grauman's Chinese Theatre we were off to the beach.

We had a great day at the beach cycling from the Santa Monica Pier all the way to Venice and back. Along the way we watched the Venice Beach street performers, went swimming in the ocean and played football in the sand.

That evening we arrived at Chad’s house in the beautiful little surfing community of Encinitas. Chad was excited to see us and we celebrated with a great dinner at the ‘d street bar & grill’. We then partied the night away at all the local watering holes. Chad was determined to not let the night end until we sampled every single local micro beer. Even if that meant visiting the local liquor store and brown bagging it right on the street!
