I always look forward to Stay-Focused trips. I invariably have a very enjoyable and enriching experience. But, to be honest, I, at times, have mixed feelings. Vacation time away from the hospital is precious and my need to search out different corners of the World is quite overwhelming. Though each Stay-Focused trip is unique, it always takes place in the same corner of the World, Grand Cayman. I very much like Grand Cayman and I love the people I know from there even more. But, I can run away so rarely and I have so many places left on the “tick list”.
As I sit on this plane waiting to undertake the last leg of this trip, I think about the group of individuals to whom I just said good-bye. Each person was an individual, but together, they made a wonderful team. Their senses of adventure and general good will set themselves apart from most people.
My body is exhausted but my soul has been recharged by the experience. And, I miss my friends already.
Sitting on this plane right now, I’m thankful that I did go back to Cayman and I look forward to the next unique adventure there.
