Wow, manager's special. Only an extra 15 dollars a day to upgrade to a convertible. How can you pass that up. So, for the last 5 days of our trip, Alice and I had been running about on Kauai in a nifty open-top. It definitely added to the island experience except for the quick-onset rain storms (can't put the top back up going 50 mph), and the rogue, tire-eatting potholes (I'm used to driving a car with a bit more clearance). It definitely helped to have the 360 degree panoramic view of the island. Too bad for the sunburned scalp yielding to extreme dandruff by midtrip.
I guess what I am saying is that often times less-is-more (meaning less roof in this case) and all-in-all, the convertible was a good choice, as was this trip.
Mahalo!
