September-10-2004

Alice and I drove up to Waimea Canyon on the west side of the island for a look today, that is, until be hit a bit pothole and ended up with a flat tire. Of course it started raining when I was putting on the spare.
We did get to one of the very nice overlooks. I found this gentleman recording the moment his own way. It made me stop and think about how we all chose to remember special moments. Many of us had cameras at the overlook. Some big, some small, some manual (some as manual as a paintbrush), some automatic, some digital, some film. Others carried no camera at all, chosing to record the moment in their memories. Some shot just the landscape while others chose to shoot an image of a friend or loved-one using the beautiful landscape as just a backdrop.
All in all, I hope that however one choses to record happy moments, theses records serve to bring joy in the future to the artist as well as those with whom they chose to share their lives.
