Pacific Golden Plover (Pluvialis fulva)

Breydon Water, Norfolk

Initially identified as an American Golden Plover, on arrival it was a surprise to see it was in fact a Pacific.
Note how the white extends along the flanks and does not bulge in front of the eye, on the nape or on the breast.
