Nueva Atlantis, 25 Feb 08

The beach at Nueva Atlantis is c. 9 km north of Rincon de Cobo. On 25 Feb 08, three days after the Rincon de Cobo individual, Mark Pearman found the individual featured in these images. To my eyes it appears to be identical to the Rincon de Cobo, and is presumably the same individual and thus ostensibly an Elegant Tern (Thalasseus elegans). Up to four other terns with yellow-orange bills were present, and initially thought possibly to be Elegant Tern, but a close scrutiny of available photos strongly suggests that they are Cayenne Tern (T. acuflavidus eurygnathus) and they are not considered further. All photographs are (c) Mark Pearman.
