These two playing holes on the back have to be closed with the thumbs or the Xun will not give a tone. This relates to other aerophones in Asia that also demand a permanent closing of playing holes. Maybe this is also a good way to prevent uneducated people from playing an instrument which is not theirs.

Die beiden Daumenlöcher auf der Rückseite müssen geschlossen werden, ansonsten erklingt kein Ton. Viele Instrumente haben heute mehr als 6 Löcher, doch nicht alle davon funktionieren einwandfrei.
