Monument Station

I get off the Underground at this station each day on my commute to work. Usually, there are hundreds of people
streaming out of the station at 8 am, but I managed to pick a quiet time to take a quick photo. I was pleased to
notice that the bookmaker (the Coral shop) is open for business for those who want to put a bet down before their morning coffee.

This is great Jim. We so loved London when we were there this summer, I'm getting all nostalgic seeing the Underground sign ;o)

A gray damp morning with a few bright spots of color. Just like life in general.

I can almost hear the "wooo-clatter" of the tube through the station and the rumble of rush hour traffic. great shot.

Cool shot. It's amazing what difference the blurred people make - giving that feeling of hustle and bustle even without the crowds. Love it.
Gary Winters01-Feb-2005 19:19
I like the blur of the people. Wonder if you looked at this in black and white? In any event, it's cool like it is! (You can bet on that...)

Great atmospheric shot.

The moving people provides nice action..so it does still feel like a bit of a rush even at that hour.
Ian Clowes01-Feb-2005 18:38
Hurry, hurry - everyone in a rush.... except the PADman.
