Thwarted

I thought this little (maybe 4" in length) Eastern Box Turtle would be happier on the other side of the barrier that is holding in the mulch, so I rehomed it onto the mulch. It quickly disappeared. (When moments like this arise and there is no camera handy, nothing beats my phone...and I often wind up with better pictures because I don't have to worry about changing settings, except maybe a little minor exposure compensation because this camera tends to make pictures too bright.) Please note: I just learned that if you see a turtle in the road and want to move it (unless it is a large snapping turtle and they're dangerous and have to be moved differently) you shouldn't pick it up just by it's carapace (top shell), but also supported the underbody with your other hand. Picking it up by just the top shell causes pain.
