Again

Not bad for handheld and 1600 ISO...I'm sure the D300 is going to work
very well in the low light old places I'm in.
I'm on the road for a few days so I hope to find a low light place to shoot.
Tex was the only low light subject that would sit still tonight.....

Nikon D300

Now add some fast glass to the mix and there isn't much you can't get a nice picture of.

That is phenomenal high ISO noise control. I can hardly wait to see the inside of some of those old treasures. It should also let you take your painting-with-light to new heights.

Well, Tex is a smart dog....because he's named after my great state!! Love this image. I know you are going to love that new camera! Can't wait to see more of your shots!

I love his expression :) oh, and welcome to the D300 club, I can't wait to see your low light rural images!

Yup, not bad at all for 1600; and we already know you have the steady hands :)
Now let's see those low light rural shots.

He's got that " What- you actually "WANT" me to stay here and don't move?" look on his face. Great capture Mike.

COngrats on buying the D300, I'm sure it won't let you down and I look forward to many more great low-light shots.

Sweet shot and Sweet New Toy! Lucky you!!

He's got the "Yup, this is the L-I-F-E" look on his face....that D300 definitely works well in the low light Mike, oh how many old buildings will this one see :).
