Meet Jared...Jared has Cystic Fibrosis or C.F. for short, as little kids would say "65 Rose's".
The C.F. mutation is estimated to be up to 52,000 years old and 1 in 25 kids are born with it.
Of the over 3,500 people that have it in Canada over 50% are now adults and the average age
untill death is now 36.7 years plus or minus 5 years. Jared is now an adult at the age of 20.
He will be 21 on May 14th 2008. This image was taken on one of his many stays in hospital
when he was young (about 3 years old here). Ward 3B Room 341 and the mask are from today.
Yes Jared is back in hospital again...C.F. only gets worse and is very hard on family.
Jared is my number 2 son out of 3....he is doing well and should be home this week.
To visit him we had to dress in gowns and put on these masks and rubber gloves.
Any airborn contamination near him when he gets sick is not good........
