North Star, Northern Lights & Bents SK

Our last big road trip...Glenn and myself took one more trip this weekend to capture some more of this great place we call home.....
Glenn has been here only 4 short years.
We wanted to "Paint" Bents a place we have been to more just a few times and in all seasons.
This night would turn out to be very long (up until 5am) but we would see it all. First a super "MoonSet" then the "Northern Lights" followed by the "Milky Way" and to end the night one hell of a "Thunder Storm" and yes we got it all...this would be a perfect end to our shooting together for sometime.
In this image the stars rotate around the "North Star" with the "Northern Lights" on the horizon, and the elevator painted with a 2 millon candle power spot flood and snoot for a short time.

Amazing combination of night time sky special events. Fabulous capture.

Mike:
I am fascinated by your "light painted" images. On this one, how long did you actually paint the elevator? I've made a couple of feeble attempts at it but failed. Could you offer a little guidance? BTW, Brad Claypole directed me you your site.

What a way to depart this great province. We sure had fun, despite the mosquitoes and the humid air, and we got some fantastic shots – like this and the others Mike. Well done.

Breathtaking Mike, a stunning shot that words don't really do justice for....
