This interesting frog was one of two found beneath a large rock beside a spring at the base of a rocky hillside in the Kimberley.
What interested me was the difference in head size and pattern between the two specimens and the smaller size (about 30mm)
compared to the specimens I have seen from Kakadu. The ear is also less distinct than that of the Kakadu specimens. I am unsure
whether this is due to the specimens being immature - but the difference between the specimens looked like sexual dichotomy.
Unfortunately no frogs were calling while I was in the area. Four specimens, all about the same size were found during a month's
survey on Doongan Station.
