This one is much to one-dimensional to enter in the Open (or any!) category. It has some color
and it’s nice and ‘clean’ but it’s too sterile to be an interesting shot. Believe it or not I
was leaning on a white picket fence to take the shot. I should have at least backed up and
included that fence in the foreground. It was the first print out of my new Epson R1800 and I
was blown away by the sharpness of the image and decided to enter it as an afterthought. The
sharpness did elicit some comments but the image really has nothing to offer. Lesson: If you
don’t believe in your own image don’t think anyone else will either.
