Agree with Phil and his thoughts. How true the modern technology has driven real communication to `things' instead. Soon we will be `robotic' both in speech and also emotionally. Sad but that's life.

Being close has less to do with distance....and more to do with caring. What a great image. K

****Both figures are abstracted to the point where their feelings are invisible to us. The body language of both suggests intensity, yet neither seems aware of each other's presence. Your title is ironic -- they share the space, yet the live in different worlds. This image is a social comment on the world of technology. Humans have become slaves to their cell phones and computers. Each is communicating with someone else, while ignoring the person who shares the room with them. I feel sorry for both of these people, and I think you do, as well.

So close together - separated though! Ingenious shot!

fascinating....i'm not sure about Adal's incommunicability observation......they may both be communicating but not with each other...even in such close proximity. a brilliant illustration of how technological communication can overpower face to face communication.
great to see you back on pbase!

Communicability / incommunicability.
Brava!
