My dear friend JenniFer married Aaron almost half a year ago. I traveled down to North Carolina for the beautiful occasion. I had been promising JenniFer for about a decade that I would come down to visit and I certainly was glad that I finally did for this event.
I got to see JenniFer and Aaron again today. This time, I only had to drive down the street where they held the "New Jersey Reception" for friends and family who couldn't make the trip down for the main event. The day was beautiful which was fitting for such a celebration. There were many guests, but it was the mass of "junior members" who caused me to reflect. JenniFer has a family in the truest form of the word. They have always been kind, warm, and generous, both to each other as well as to their friends. And, the effects of these traits are so evident when I see their children. The next generation has truly arrived...not just a baby here and there, but in a full cohort with individual thoughts and personalities.
It was a joy to run in the grass, play with balloons, and talk about LEGOS. Having so many kids around could have made me feel very old. But, instead, I felt quite young today.
