Renu was kind enough to spend much of last evening assembling this storage cabinet for me. This was no simple Ikea bookshelf (the silly bookshelf was left to me for assembly). The zillions of parts came in four large boxes. I am every thankful for Renu's hard work in converting these zillions of parts into one functional unit.
But, as this photo illustrates, the adventure was not without challenging obstacles. One would imagine that twelve identical drawers should have all identical parts. Well, the person or machine drilling the necessary holes into these wooden parts took some artistic liberty with their task. As a result, I had to take a power drill to the drawer just to make it fit...but there was no way to make it fit well.
I always believe that one must choose one's own battles. But, I do believe that this one needs to be fought. I'm going to call Ikea tomorrow to try to get properly drilled components. I hope it goes well because I'm ready to take this all the way to Sweden.

I deal with stuff like this from time to time and
yes, it's aggravating when things don't come set up
as advertised.
Take it to the top!
