Digital Visage*

Strangely enough, this technique seems to work better the worse your TV is - the texture is larger and more pronounced. Just an experiment - tell me what you think.

Thanks for the explanation Adam, I'll have to give this a try!

Great work! I'd have had no idea how this was done if it weren't for the explanation... very very clever!

Cool image - I love the RGB pattern up close and the evil eye look from across the room!

Glad you like it.

There's nothing really special about the technique, it's all in the EXIF - just a long macro lens, balanced on a pillow to hold steady. Here the effective focal length was 300mm taken from 0.95m away (as close as this lens focuses). I can get more zoom, but this distance allows for composition.

To get the image I fired up the title screen of a DVD and took a picture - lots of nice artwork there. This is River from Serenity if anyone's interested. Adam

Good stuff Adam, well judged for tone and composition. I am curious too.

Incredible! Ya have to get back from the monitor a little ways to see the face. I have no idea how you got so close that you're able to see the pixels like that. Are you going to tell us how you did this? Very cool shot Adam!
