Salt is at fault (but there is no fault, just an anticline)

This terrain is tilted and bent (note the rock strata on the horizon)
because a big blob of salt deep underground is pushing upward. The
resulting landform is called a salt anticline. The Colorado River
is just to the right of this view, far below the horizon.
