Wheat Field with Crows, The Bund, Shanghai, China, 2005

A collection of Van Gogh's work is displayed in a underpass to the Bund, but people seem too busy to stop and appreciate the arts.

Good eyes! Perhaps this can provide a clue to the displayer that this is not the best place to put them?

Oh by the way coming back to this and the context you wrote Jen, it reminded me of our conversation on thishttp://www.pbase.com/shangheye/image/44121182 . Taken near Xu Jia Hui ... oh and as I remember it that statue was actually stolen over a year ago and then had to be replaced ... maybe the act of a true art lover? ;-))

WOW that is one strong image. So many different reasons. Van Gogh's is seen right away, the people don't really matter at least who they are. And I love the silver frame. Oh yes and on Christmas day. Very nice. Regards Jennifer.

I see the link between the dark black shadows and the black crows Jen. Each in a way is in a feeding frenzy, so absorbed in themselves that they destroy that which they need to survive community..insatiable. I love the frame within a frame that turns the background in to a sublime backdrop. like a world within a world...it makes it that much more real.

Magnific! Splendid combination of the black silhouettes,
and the Van Gogh painting. Bravo!
