Thanks for the comments. The pattern is the underside of a fluorescent light fixture. I saw the fly land there and the idea hit me, so I photographed and he/she lived (escaped). The shot is rotated 180 degrees and I had a blast making it. I'm also happy that the title helps convey the meaning of the pattern :) -- Chris

Very nice fly macro, Chris. Well composed, good lighting, and effective DOF...your placement of the fly within the frame is just right. I especially like the repeating pattern of the background...and how much it mimics the microscopic appearance of the eye. It's like having "a fly in the eye" :) Well done. MFC

This is wild and wonderful. The fly is right ON and the bg is neat with its magnifying pull. YEP!
