An exciting end to my trip to England. After 20 minutes at the check-in counter at Heathrow I succeeded in checking my bags all the way through to Washington, but not myself!! They failed to check me in to the last leg of my trip from JFK to DCA. After flight delays, I had one hour to get through customs in New York and then check in for the short hop to DC. They overbooked and I didn't get on the plane. So here's the view out of the Ramada Inn near the airport. On my body clock it was about 4:30am and I had been up since 8 or 9am. A very long day. But I got a full night's sleep and then flew home from La Guardia on the Fourth of July. New York City looked great from the air and we flew along the Potomac River and over Memorial Bridge on the way in to DC so I had the classic aerial view of the Mall. No pictures of it though.
