Blowing in the Wind*

How many roads must a man walk down
Before they call him a man
Yes and how many seas must a white dove sail
Before she sleeps in the sand
Yes and how many times must cannon balls fly
Before they're forever banned
The answer my friend is blowing in the wind
The answer is blowing in the wind

How many times must a man look up
Before he sees the sky
Yes and how many ears must one man have
Before he can hear people cry
Yes and how many deaths will it take till he knows
That too many people have died
The answer my friend is blowing in the wind
The answer is blowing in the wind

How many years can a mountain exist
Before it is washed to the sea
Yes and how many years can some people exist
Before they're allowed to be free
Yes and how many times can a man turn his head
And pretend that he just doesn't see
The answer my friend is blowing in the wind
The answer is blowing in the wind

It doesn't bother me that his face isn't in focus, though I'm more concerned that his face is a little bright - but that's being picky! I like the shot, but do wonder if it's worth cropping a little at the top. Phil

Olaf,
Would be even better with his face sharply focused. Great idea and lots of fun. I like the sharp focus on the cloth and the contrasting colors. Thanks for taking care of the galleries and commenting on everyone's work. Roberta

Olaf, sorry my head is on backwards today. I meant NoiseNinja and not NeatImage.

Ah well, sorry about that. NN is pretty great too.

Thanks Anna and Byron!

I was so busy chasing the flying bag, trying to keep the focus point on it, just shooting away, I didn't even take much notice that my son was in the frame, until after the fact. I wasn't trying to make another photo of my son, but chose this one over a bunch of other ones, as it was the most unique in comparison to the "Afterlife of a Plastic Bag"-shot. I like the fact that the bag is sharper, as that is the main subject - my son just plays a supporting role in this - directing attention to the bag with his eyes.

Anna about NI, I clicked on the link provided and noticed in the system requirements that it was only for different versions of Windows. Care to direct me to a place where I can get it for my Mac?

I'm not sure if it was your intention, but the bag is so much sharper than the rest of the photo that it almost looks pasted in. I agree with Ana that having the boy in focus would be less distracting. (it may be my screen) but I think the boy's face looks a bit over exposed compared to the rest of the photo. I do like the use of the orange shirt and the orange bag... that works well. -Byron

The colors and composition is really nice here Olaf. I'm not sure if it would be better is the boy was also in focus. Whatever. Regarding your other comment on Neat Image, the OS X version works very well in Panther.

Wow! The orange against the blue is very strong.

Not that the image is expressing anything that the song is - just using the title for inspiration! --Olaf
