Thanks! What an amazing recollection!

Well "cheap" is it no more in this vicinity. The real estate craze did not make stop here, we are talking many millions for any of these homes, no matter how small and how run down. The entire nation suffers from this explosion in cost. Most people buy to make it a vacation rental for 2000-3000 a week, till its paid off. So if you can get a loan of such scale, and if you can pay the horrid US real estate tax, you are in! If not, memories are indeed the best think you can have!

Thanks for "stopping by"!

thanks, brought back memories when i lived on lido and sailed in the harbor, gave birth to #1 son in newport beach, built a 36 ft trimarian in cota mesa, mooring just at the lido island bridge, shopped at balboa, that was a long time ago, it was carefree, cheap and beautiful, and very few people and boats. I have been thinking of going back , but I think its best to keep the memories I have the same inside.. I can still see "Roy Rogers on the island, and John Wayne our neighbor, and smelled the old canning factory. I miss my late husband, going barefoot on the warm sand and wearing those daring bikinis. Also the old dorys with the daily fish catch. Now I'm old and still happy and full of fun inside, just this old body keeps me a little sedate. Thanks for showing me the old places with new looks.
