Typically English??

I've been recently working on a typical old English country property. Naturally I took a few photographs for my own personal records and mailed a few of them over to my friend in America. The response was quote: "That is so cliche to me that house? Looks so "English" We don't have houses like that here."

This had me wondering what else that I normally see every day and take for granted and is so typically English. Well I've left it a tad too late to go out roving the countryside looking so I looked no further than our kitchen. So is this typically English?? I wonder... it looks like a Welsh dresser to me, however the Calico pottery is definately English. Calico is one of the designs from Burleigh Ware manufactured by Burgess Dorling & Leigh. The firm is one of the few remaining pottery businesses being run under family ownership and has been manufacturing best quality English pottery for over 150 years. Eat your heart out IKEA!!

Don't know why but I always think British when I see marmalade. Lovely, homey, shot.

without your commentary I would have guessed New England (English, I suppose) or Amish (Pennsylvania Dutch) . . . similar I'd guess

I don't hang around very often in English kitchens, but this certainly looks like what I think one would look like. Well done re lighting, depth, and clarity.
