A drop of colour by Matt Shuter

Spent hours playing with a tank of water and some of my kid's water colour paints. I shot about 150 pictures and the final choice came from about 6 that I was happy with.
For this one I loaded the brush with paint and then dabbed it into the water. This is version 2
having been processed in Photoshop to bring out the colour and clean up the background.
Now on Version 3 thanks to John, Ingo and Ondrej.

Hi John,
I can make out the edge of the area that you are referring to. I must admit that I was unsure how much it would show up as it is quite faint. After Ingo's comments I played about with both these images and I think with a bit more time I could have got a better result. The trick is finding the time!!
Thanks for your comments, you really are moderating this one superbly.
Cheers, Matt.

Hi Matt,
Thanks for this variation on your paint in water theme. I like the concept and impact of this one better than your paint-brush as the shape is more complex and interesting as a simple subject without any distraction from the brush.
Given that you couldn't see the artifacts in your other pic, I guess you can't see the stark outline of the coloured area here that makes it look a bit unnatural. A smoother transition to the clean surrounds would work better. That's easily achieved by selecting what you want to keep, then feathering by the right number of pixels being inverting the selecting and selecting delete to get rid of what you don't want.
Cheers, John
