Vale of Belvoir

I had to make a client visit this afternoon in a village on the egde of the Vale of Belvoir. It was one of those days where the sky was so very clear but with a fair amount of well defind cloud moving around, the kind of days I love so much. I went out armed with cameras and all the gear as I knew I would have an hour after my visit to drive up the pastures towards Belvoir Castle. You can see some of my pictures of the castle that were taken last year by CLICKING HERE

This is a view of the Vale looking north towards Bottesford and the A52 from the roadside that runs beneath the castle grounds. In the very far distance are most of the power stations along the Trent Valley and on a clear day, like today, the towers of Lincoln Cathedral are visible on the horizon too.

I took some shots of the castle, that was behind me when taking this shot. They can be seen by by CLICKING HERE There's also an infrared version of this shot in that gallery too.

There's a un-defished (original) version of this now in my EXTRAS gallery which can be seen by CLICKING HERE

Whoa. I can't believe you went from that fish eye version to this! That is amazing. This picture is stunning. You're going to frame it, aren't you?

Very nice Ian - I really love that kind of sky shot with a good wide angle lens! Did you use a ND grad?

Who says this area is boring? I was out in leafy Surrey today and we were robbed of such views although our clouds weren't too bad either.
A fantastic shot, Ian: did you use a ND filter? I'm still searching for a fish eye in the "bargains" column:-)

striking image. the sky is really the subject with the expanse of land the anchor. Love the feeling of large open space in this image. A feeling hard to capture in a small frame. Bravo!
