Twenty Quid

After missing the good weather this morning by chasing around town collecting cheques and doing the banking, I'm thinking a missed opportunity here.

So when all else fails it’s out with the macro lens! I’d seen a picture in today’s Times newspaper that inspired me to take this one. It looked a little dull out of the camera so I tweaked it up a little.

I hope the Royal Mint view this as a work of art and not an act to wilfully deface Her Majesty’s currency or I’m for it!

You inspired me to give it a try... although my result is rather less impressive .

BTW - This is an excellent shot Ian, and nice to remind us what they look like, as some of us NEVER have that much in our pockets for too long! I like Mike's comment about the round of drinks... he obviously doesn't live in London if he actually got change!!!

It's amazing how Her Majesty never ages on our quids, isn't it?!

Nice close-up - I can feel 'lens envy' coming on :0)

I had one of these yesterday, had to swap almost all of it for a round of drinks in the pub last night..........

Showing off by flaunting your wealth, all 20 pound of it. The lens interests me.

In the tower you go!!
I'm told that anything between 13 and 28 of these will do the business, Jeanne.

Excelent effects!

Nice shot Ian, could do with a few more of these, it's been a slow day today.

That's a good macro. How many of those ladies do I need to get me a fishie???
Guest 20-Apr-2004 16:09
Great image!

I like it. Best currency picture I've seen. I think I'll try something similar with our new $20. I like Franklin better, but Jackson is easier to come by.

Great shot! I like the DOF choice. Are these the real colors? Your currency is so much prettier than our American money - it's boring....
