"Los Angeles Haze"
Today I spent with my sister, driving from my little suburb to her little suburb, the two towns connected by a very busy Los Angeles freeway. I had gone over there with one goal in mind: to embrace my inner 1970's geek that came into being when I was a very young age. We were going to spend a few hours watching my new DVD set that featured my sister's and my first great crush. Yes, yes...you know him...you know the man...
Dave Starsky.
Oh yeah...Paul Michael Glaser and David Soul as "Starsky and Hutch," the entire first season for $31.99 at Sam's Club. Whooooo!!!!
I'd been in sixth grade and had very liberal parents - in fact, so liberal, my sister and I can't figure out how it is we got to watch such a "gritty" program on at 10:00 on Wednesday nights. Anyway, I had tennis shoes like Starsky's. My sister had the Hutch attitude - cool and detached with a simmering anger. She had it pretty good for a fourth grader. We were madly in love with those overly-affectionate men. So today, we found ourselves in stitches over the drama and giving each other, "Oh...so cute!!!" looks. We totally remembered that all-consuming LOVE.
What is it? Ahhh...my inner Los Angeles Geek.
