Eskimos wear all sorts of modern clothing, but when the temperature drops, when people are walking around saying "allapaa!" to each other (it's cold!), the traditional clothing comes out. Edna Coffin is wearing a kuspuk, which is a fur coat with cotton cover and wolf ruff, and reindeer leg mukluks. The familiar hooded sweatshirt is essentially an Eskimo aktikluq. Many people make their own from polar fleece and other warm fabrics.
