We came across this huge tree that had fallen across the street and landed on top of a Porsche parked in its path. Needless to say, the Porsche was totaled.

I can’t even begin to describe the devastation wreaked by a severe thunderstorm on Capitol Hill — everywhere you go are fallen trees blocking sidewalks and streets, huge broken branches, damaged cars and houses, looking more like a war zone than a quiet neighborhood. The DC government has received 1,100 emergency requests to clean up downed trees and limbs across the city, which is simply unheard of here.
