My travel computer is a Lenovo YOGA 6. I like it a lot. When we got back from Samoa, I plugged it in and it wouldn't charge. I plugged it in at a spot I had used many times before. It charges through a Type C port. Anyway I (stupidly) took it to the Geek Squad at Best Buy. They had a look and said I needed a new mother board which would be $800, about the price of a new one. We have used the Geek Squad for appliance repairs and I have to say they are at best incompetent. Never again.
I found a local guy that would take a look at it. After talking to him on the phone, it was clear that he knew what he was doing. I arranged to take it over to his place and decided to just plug it in and see what happens. To my surprise and delight it started charging. I talked to the guy and he said to try it in other sockets. Sure enough, some sockets didn't work with it although they worked with other devices. What's a fella to do? Pinch the prongs together and Bob's your uncle. It worked with all the sockets I tried.
