One of the more... frustrating... things about Italian cities is their habit of giving the same street a different name depending on which side of a cross street it is on. Thus I just spent a couple of minutes looking for the Via Plinio (which this is indeed) on the map, but only seeing Via Vitruvio... which this street becomes on the other side of the Corso Buenos Aries, which is behind me. I came across the street as I was walking to the south west on Corso Buenos Aries, then swung a left.
It's not helped by Google Maps' reluctance to show naffing street names at all until you zoom to just the right level to trigger the magic algorithm. Apparently nobody ever told Google that when it comes to maps? Displaying the place names kinda does matter.
The hotel that we see beyond is the Demidoff Hotel Milano, a 3 star hotel with a very mixed set of ratings on Trip Advisor. Its overall rating is 3/5; 71 as 5/5, 105 as 4/5, 130 as 3/5, 66 as 2/5... and 107 as 1/5. Some of the 5/5 ones are one hit wonders which I immediately dismiss. Most of the gripes were quite detailed complete with photos (which are less useful now that Trip Advisor has stupidly decided to dump all photos into a single "bucket", and you can no longer easily see the ones that are tied to a review), and revolved around the unrefurbished state of the standard rooms. Boy are they unrefurbished.
The location is great, almost as good as ours since it is a mere 5 minute walk to the Metro station, but with prices (in February 2023 of $320-$350 a night I don't think I'd be in a rush to stay there.
Still, the area is neat and clean and classic, old style Milano.
