Treehopper (Enchenopa)

Ottawa East

For the August Challenge -"It Caught My Eye".

Found on a Black Locust tree. Bug Guide notes that the Enchenopa found on Black Locust is an "undescribed species in the Enchenopa binotata complex". There are a number of Enchenopa similarly labeled but on different tree/shrub species. You can see the large eye on the right, under the thorn-like pronotum.
