Tuff Formations

Big Bend Ranch S.P. Texas

Tom walking in a moonscape of volcanic tuff formations. Some of the larger holes have scorch marks inside from old campfires.
We accidentally found this place while 4-wheeling near Tapado Canyon, 30 years ago.
It isn't on any State Park maps, but that isn't surprising. There are many sensitive sites - geologic and anthropologic in Big Bend Ranch
which are held in secret for preservation reasons.

This is an interesting find. The Tuff looks like concrete slurry poured over the rocks! V

I've heard of this place, but I can't remember whether it's sacred or just holEy.

the pocked slope is fascinating...you can sense the wonder of vicariously through Tom's presence and stance..

Great capture of this interesting landscape. There's a region of Turkey called Cappadocia that also features many volcanic tuff formations, although they look different from what you have in Texas. V.
