Moonscape Tuffs

Big Bend Ranch S.P. Texas

Tom walking into a moonscape of volcanic tuff formations.
We accidentally found this place while 4-wheeling near Tapado Canyon, 30 years ago.
It isn't on any State Park maps, but that isn't surprising. There are many sensitive sites - geologic and anthropologic in Big Bend Ranch
which are held in secret for preservation reasons.

Other-wordly...good to have Tom to give us a sense of scale and distance

Good that they are kept on the down-low. Not everyone will respect them.

What a cool looking landscape. I like the rocks near where Tom is walking. "V"

A most unusual landscape and it seems very dry too.

A fine photo, it is always good in my opinion, to have a human figure to give a sense of scale in the image.

What a great capture of this fascinating landscape, or more correctly, moonscape. V.

Beautiful place. Such a shame there are those who would trash these places, or build walls through them with complete disregard for the environment.
