I have distinctly mixed feelings about street photography. On the one hand I'm concerned about invading someone's privacy. On the other, these are the photos that 100 years from now will best tell the story of these times and the people in them. My compromise is therefore to avoid making people look stupid or ugly but to try to find something good in the shot. Something that the subject would be happy to see of themselves.
I really like this shot, which was taken of the tyre and car wash place that we saw in an earlier shot. There's a dignity to it; he seems focused on something on the street; possibly a potential customer, and is ready to do his job. There is an energy to the way he is holding himself; focused and intense. And, of course, there's the sweat that I referred to in the title. It was over 30°C on that day, so anybody who was outside was definitely going to be sweating. And here he is, ready, willing and able to make a living from that sweat.
(With the exception of washing and waxing, since I notice that that item - Lavaggio con cera - has been deleted from the price list.)
Yes, I do think this is a good candid even if I do say so myself.
