St Bridget was born in 451 in Louth County, Ireland.
His father, a Scot, was a former Druid king, and his mother a Christian slave baptized by St. Patrick.
Her father wanted to marry her but she preferred to devote herself to religion.
She built a cell in a large oak tree around which several women gathered and took her as their mother.
She thus founded a convent, around which the city of Kildare was built.
