National Wednesday US COVID NEWS:

"Trump Promotes the Outlandish Claim That COVID-19 Has Killed a 'Minuscule' Number of Americans. The claim that only 9,000 or so Americans have died from COVID-19 is based on a misinterpretation of data from the (CDC)." That's a 181,000 lost American souls difference from reality....

“The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention has told public health officials around the United States to prepare to distribute a potential coronavirus vaccine as soon as late October. CDC Director Dr. Robert Redfield asked states to speed through permits for medical and pharmaceutical supplies company McKesson to help distribute any eventual coronavirus vaccine. In a letter, Redfield asked them to waive any requirements that might get in the way of distributing vaccines by Nov. 1 — before Election Day — and weeks, if not months, before most experts expect any vaccine to be fully tested.” CNN

It sounds like the US is following in Russia’s footsteps…

Despite desperately wanting to see and get a vaccination to help end the dangers of the pandemic, I refuse to be a Guinee Pig to find out if an unproven vaccine is safe and effective. We will wait until 2021 before we consider doing anything; even if a vaccine prematurely becomes available in the USA. Being alive and healthy in “captive” Stay-at-Home Isolation is better than the alternative. Someday, all this virus induced sadness and misery will eventually end. Maybe things will be better for all by next Summer. Hopefully, a PROVEN safe and effective vaccine will really be available by then. Maybe next Summer will be a normal Summer again. One can only pray.

"Wednesday evening rally calls for KC Mayor Quinton Lucas’ recall. The group which has more than 12,000 members on Facebook, has been forming a petition to remove Mayor Lucas from office, they have until the 24th of September to get more than 13,000 certified signatures to make the mayor resign. Many in attendance say they don’t agree with a number of the mayors’ decisions during this pandemic including strict policies on businesses and mask mandates. ‘I just want to open up the city. Let people live a normal life let’s get back to normalcy,’ Darrell Hughes who signed the petition said.”

“Kansas City, Missouri, Mayor Quinton Lucas said he is expanding Kansas City's State of Emergency through Jan. 16, 2021, and the decision was based on a sharp spike in COVID-19 cases within the city in the past month. ‘Until there’s a widely available vaccine, COVID-19 is here to stay—with serious potential health consequences for those infected,’ Lucas said. ‘Mask-wearing, social distancing and basic hygiene continue to be the most effective way to mitigate the spread of COVID-19’” KMBC News

Meanwhile news from the state capital:
“JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. — Cities, states and major retailers are beginning to roll out mask mandates to help curb a rise in coronavirus cases across the U.S. However, Missouri’s governor has made his stance clear.

"‘Governor Parson has no intentions to institute a statewide mask mandate.'"

"Governor Parson has shared several photos on his social media pages showing him without a mask while in close proximity to others at events ’” KSDK News

Positive cases are up 8.2 percent over the last 7 days. Just over 50 percent of all reported cases are for individuals 39 years of age and younger. The 20 to 24 age group is the highest of all age groups. ” FOX News

“As COVID cases rise, Parson insists Missouri still OK. Despite the rise in cases, Republican Gov. Mike Parson and the state health department director say the state still is managing the virus well.” FOX News
