Spring and Summer seemed to go on forever this year, but somehow, the weeks & months still vanished into a blur of days that won’t be remembered. We won’t be “leaf peeping” this Fall nor going to Fall Festivals. This is merely another season of endless social isolation to just stay alive.
I miss being able to freely go into festive crowds and not have to fear for my life. I miss traveling the world and having new adventures. I miss getting together in real life with all of my friends.
If 2020 were a normal year, I’d be headed to Europe this month. Instead, I’ve missed a month in Australia and New Zealand in the Spring; followed by a month in Alaska this Summer. Now, I’m going to miss a Fall trip that had been planned to Europe. In the past 6 months, I’ve also missed an active everyday life closer to home with places to go and things to see & do (with others).
Fall this year is not going to be any different than Spring and Summer. It will be filled with masks, social distancing, and fear for those wise enough to understand what is actually going on. If we break the rules, the virus could find another host. Fall in America in 2020 only means that even more people are going to be infected and die from COVID-19. As much as we want it, life will not be back to normal. You won’t be able to safely hug a friend or close acquaintance without risking your life. You won't be able to meet new people and feel comfortable nor even be "safe".
All you can do is hope for a better future when the "old normal" once again becomes a reality and not something to just dream about.

Tuesday US COVID NEWS
“The U.S. announced Tuesday that it would not join an international coalition to find and distribute a Covid-19 vaccine worldwide due to the group's association with the World Health Organization, the latest sign of the Trump administration withdrawing the country from the international health community's response to the pandemic over political concerns.” Forbes
I think we need a president that actually cares more about human lives than about politics. This one's handling of the pandemic has convinced me of that. Does this current president actually want to see people die??? It rather seems that way.

Although some of the leaves are starting to decay on the trees, this gallery will continue until the beginning of Astronomical Fall later this month. We're now in that transition period between late Summer and Fall. The weather is still good enough to have the freedom to enjoy being outside.
Warm days remain.
My photo subject is a sycamore tree.
