Attractive, and odd

An attractive gate, I thought, but sort of an odd looking wall.

*****

I never tired of photographing Riyadh neighborhoods during our three years in Saudi Arabia, with each one grander than the last. Tim used to drive me around residential areas on the weekends, and in a country that doesn’t really embrace photography, almost all pictures had to be shot from the car. I only got “reprimanded” (but nicely) once, by a Saudi man who suggested people probably wouldn’t appreciate my photographing their houses. Yet this gallery has a huge number of views, some of them I suspect by Saudis.

Best to view in "Original" because other versions resized by Pbase are decidedly unsharp.

A beautiful gate, and so well captured!

I find the manicured shrubs rather striking, perhaps because seeing green there is not as common.. so they stand out. The gates are unusual but beautiful. A very fine shot. V

The gate does seem to outshine the wall surrounding it. V

The side light shows it off well.

Very cool gates - and odd that the trees hide whatever art work is on the walls ! V
Odd too that the trees have been trimmed so the trunk looks in the wrong place. Makes one take a second look :)
